The valence states of europium in EuPd,B are studied in connection with the distribution of boron atoms in the neighbourhood of the Eu ion,The temperature dependence of this distribution, which determines the papiations of the EU" and E " ' * states, is analysed. The results are compared with the experimental intensity ratios of the Mossbauer lines. Fairly satisfactory agreement is obtained.
A theory for the fluctuations of the magnetic moment of the grains in ferrihydrite is developed, and their influence on the Mossbauer spectra is studied in the range of temperatures between 26 K and 65 K. The evolution of the spectra can be interpreted in terms of isotropic relaxation, in spite of the fact that they are not ordinary relaxation spectra. The results make it clear that superferromagnetic relaxation is present.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
