The reasons for IOL exchange presented in this study are comparable to those of other series in the literature. Explantations due to optical problems may gain weight in the future due to a rise in refractive procedures and demands.
AbstractFor effective work flow of the operation theatres (OR) of a hospital, different requirements of different levels of organisation in a hospital have to be met. The structure of the operation area has to meet the requirements regarding space and staffs. Pre-and post surgery spheres of the OR have to be adjusted the surgical capacity. The management of the OR has to be adapted to generally accepted and announced rules. The OR-management is only able to be successful in realizing these rules, if they have got the necessary power of being in charge. A high level of social competence is required in order to coordinate the work flows of the varying professions in the OR. The minimal prerequisites are the punctual availability of all information necessary to informed decision-making, which is only possible by making use of efficient modern information technology (IT). Planning the following surgical procedures requires an appointment scheduling, otherwise it is impossible to adjust the expected flow rate of patients to the real efficiency. The definite OR-planning has to contain all relevant information in order to arrange an efficient daily plan. The OR schedule confirmed by the OR-management has to be a commitment for all staffs in the operation complex. Direct control of the surgical procedures has to take into consideration the specifications o...
