O Sistema Aquífero Boa Vista (SABV) perfaz o Estado de Roraima, cujas águas abastecem grande percentual da capital, Boa Vista. Geologicamente, é caracterizado por rochas sedimentares e vulcânicas fraturadas, sendo sua profundidade, delimitação e variabilidade lateral massivamente desconhecida. Tal fato, justifica a aplicação de ferramentas indiretas, dentre estas, a técnica da Sondagem Elétrica Vertical (SEV) com arranjo Schlumberger. A área de estudo engloba o meio urbano da capital roraimense (zona oeste, bairro Cidade Satélite). Assim, o modelo hidrogeoelétrico proposto para o SABV indicou que as zonas permoporosas mais significantes estão localizadas entre NW e NE e são mais recomendadas para a instalação de poços tubulares. Sugere-se os pacotes areno-argilosos e arenosos. Os valores de resistividade desses pacotes oscilam entre 3.000 Ω.m e menos de 14.000 Ω.m identificando-se uma zona favorável para a captação de águas subterrâneas. Logo, poços podem ser perfurados até a profundidade máxima de 55 m e mínima de 32 m, buscando-se a captação de águas subterrâneas com maior probabilidade de êxito.
Os temas geológicos são abordados no ensino fundamental dentro do conteúdo programático das disciplinas de Ciências e Ge-ografia e, portanto, podem ocupar muitas vezes um papel secundário. A proposta deste trabalho foi aproximar a universidade do ensino básico, popularizando determinados conceitos e conteúdos por meio de ações com estudantes da graduação e do ensino fundamental. A iniciativa buscou tratar do tema “O Interior da Terra” com base em experimentos que permitissem enten-der os fenômenos geológicos e os processos que ocorrem nas subdivisões internas conhecidas. Estes experimentos buscaram reproduzir, de maneira simples, e com uso de materiais alternativos e de baixo custo, os padrões observados da micro à ma-croescala nos fenômenos naturais. Os experimentos foram elaborados por um grupo de discentes do componente curricular Geologia Histórica, do curso de bacharelado em Geologia na Universidade Federal de Roraima, sob orientação dos professores desta disciplina, e apresentados a um grupo de 51 alunos do 6º ano do ensino fundamental. A experiência realizada mostrou que os alunos da educação básica têm melhor entendimento sobre os fenômenos quando expostos a experimentos.
