Este trabajo tiene como objetivo proponer una solución al problema de la ausencia de servicios de telecomunicaciones, con calidad de servicio y cobertura adecuados, en el poblado de Choclococha, Huancavelica. Para ello, se presenta el diseño y evaluación de un enlace óptico como red troncal y una red acceso inalámbrica. Es una investigación aplicada y experimental en la que se evaluaron parámetros de rendimiento. La variable independiente es la red óptica de transporte y la variable dependiente es la comunicación de datos. Esta última definida mediante dos indicadores: el throughput y la potencia de recepción de señal en los usuarios. Se realizaron mediciones de ambos indicadores, en una muestra de la población, obteniéndose resultados que fueron validados respecto a los valores esperados según especificaciones y regulaciones. Así, el throughput medido supera el 40% de velocidad de datos garantizado por el operador de telecomunicaciones. En cuanto a la potencia de recepción, esta supera el nivel de sensibilidad de los equipos receptores. Por lo tanto, se concluye que la solución propuesta soporta las comunicaciones de Choclococha con velocidad y cobertura óptimas.
