The article deals with specific features of the intonational design of the text in oral scientific (public) speech, determined by its intermediate position between the book-written codified type of literary language and colloquial speech. The influence of such extralinguistic factors as oral form, spontaneity, publicity, etc. on language structure and prosody of the oral scientific monologue is shown. In a clear tabular form, the ratio of the variants of the pronouncing norm is presented, as well as the tendencies for syncretism and dissociation at the phonetic level of the word and the prosodic organization of the utterance. Methods of auditory analysis of transcripts of oral scientific discourse are disclosed and principles of intonation transcription of this type of sounding material are described.
The article describes the linguodidactic foundations of the course on teaching culture of scientific speech for graduate students of a technical university. The article presents the content structure of this course and its accompanying textbook, aimed at familiarizing students with the specifics of the language of science, the subfields and genres of scientific speech, the features of the compositional and semantic organization and language design of the scientific text.

Проанализированы признаки и логическая структура (композиция) публичной речи, средства установления контакта с аудиторией, описаны основные этапы риторической деятельности оратора и подготовки публичного выступления.
