The article presents a study on the structural assessment of the range of drugs for the treatment of hepatitis C. Methods of content analysis, data aggregation, grouping, comparative and marketing analysis have been used. The information base of the study was the State Register of Medicines and National Register of Medicines of April 24, 2020, as well as instructions for the medical use of drugs. It was revealed that 52 trade names of medicinal products (23 INN) and 17 substances had been registered in the Russian Federation. The analysis carried out by pharmaceutical producing countries has shown that the leading positions in the supply structure are occupied by Russian manufacturers (73.08%). Structuring by dosage forms enables to isolate tablets, covering 32.69%, as well as solutions and capsules, which are 23.08%, respectively. The largest share in the structure of the assortment of substances is occupied by interferon alpha-2b (20.93%). The results of the analysis has shown that the manufacturer carries out all stages of production for the majority of drugs. The index of renewal of the researched drug market over the past 5 years is 16.27%.
The conditions of the modern pharmaceutical market determine a number of additional requirements to the list of professional competencies of pharmaceutical employees who must be fluent in key aspects of management, search for new active substances, pharmaceutical development, preclinical and clinical studies, registration, as well as marketing and post-marketing research. Taking into account a rather wide and specific range of tasks of the pharmaceutical industry, today there is an urgent need to improve the training of future international-level pharmaceutical specialists with a focus on a more complete realization of their personal potential. The aim of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed methodology of a new format of training a special discipline in a foreign language at a non-linguistic pharmaceutical university. The paper presents the content and structure of the discipline Management in Pharmacy in a foreign language (English), as well as the features of the students groups formation and approaches to teaching, including the provision of materials in accordance with the level of language proficiency of students. The key points of interaction with residents for more efficient work and increasing their motivation in the educational process have been identified. The methodology for effective training of theoretical material in the discipline Management in Pharmacy was developed on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education SPCFU of the Ministry of Health of Russia, which combines the simultaneous study of theory and the possibility of practicing a foreign language. This method was called practical communicative lectures. The methodology was tested on university residents in the first term of the 2021-2022 academic year. Evaluation of the results of preliminary and final testing shows that absolutely all the students who took part in the experiment have improved their level of English proficiency. This indicates the high effectiveness of the course and methodology for the practice of a foreign language in terms of listening, speaking and reading of professional literature, as well as reducing the language barrier.
The World Health Organization reports that 3-4 mil. people are newly infected with hepatitis C virus per year, of which 70% will develop chronic HCV disease. Viral hepatitis is a significant burden on the state budget due to its prevalence among the working-age population. Increase of antiviral therapy coverage for patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C is one of the priorities of healthcare system. The paper presents the results of the analysis of trends in the sales pattern over 2016–2020. The objects of the study were State Register of Medicinal Products (as of February 24, 2020), clinical guidelines of the Ministry of Health of Russia on the pharmacotherapy of chronic hepatitis C, information database of the DSM Group analytical company.It has been established that the sales of drugs used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in the Russian pharmaceutical market tend to grow by 17.60% in value terms and 106.16% in physical terms during the period under consideration. At the same time, the composition of dasabuvir + ombitasvir + paritaprevir + ritonavir (in value terms) and ritonavir (in physical terms) accounts for the greatest share among international non-proprietary names. It was revealed that the products of foreign manufacturers prevail in the sales pattern. Abbvie, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca are the leaders among the companies – manufacturers of drugs for the therapy of chronic hepatitis C in terms of sales. It was found that 84.62% of drugs used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C are included into the VED list.
