Ionenes are used as polymeric pseudostationary phases in capillary electrokinetic chromatography. These polymers are composed of charged ammonium moieties interconnected with aliphatic carbohydrate chains and/or aromatic rings within the molecule. The effect of the ionene structure and its concentration in the background electrolyte on migration and separation of analytes was examined. The investigated systems were shown to be suitable for the separation of uncharged analytes possessing hydrophobic or aromatic groups.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
