Hay numerosos estudios que avalan el interés de iniciar el desarrollo del pensamiento algebraico en Educación Primaria. En este artículo presentamos una parte de un proyecto de investigación en el que exploramos los procesos de resolución de problemas de patrones geométricos de estudiantes de 4º a 6º curso de Primaria. En concreto, analizamos el comportamiento de estudiantes que recibieron una unidad de enseñanza basada en la resolución de este tipo de problemas en la aplicación GeoPattern, creada por los autores para este fin. Una característica de la aplicación es que informa a los estudiantes de si su respuesta es correcta o errónea y, en este último caso, les permite volver a responder a la misma cuestión, lo cual provoca el inicio por los estudiantes de procesos de autocorrección. Describimos los diferentes tipos de comportamiento que hemos identificado en los estudiantes que responden de forma errónea una cuestión y vuelven a intentar resolverla.
