Nanosized TiO 2 films on stainless steel were prepared by electrophoretic deposition and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and photo-voltammetry. The decoloration of methylene blue (MB) dye was used as a test reaction for the evaluation of photoelectrocatalytic activity of the prepared TiO 2 coatings. The influence of applied potential and potassium peroxodisulfate on the rate of MB decoloration was investigated. The possible mechanisms of MB oxidation under various experimental conditions are discussed.
Cobalt (hydro)oxide films on AISI 304 stainless steel and sintered metal fibre filter Bekipor ST 20AL3 were prepared using electrochemical deposition from neutral cobalt acetate solutions under galvanostatic conditions. Deposited films were structurally characterized using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. All electrochemical measurements were performed in aqueous NaOH solution. Capacitive behavior of different films was evaluated using cyclic voltammetry data. The highest specific capacitance (965 F g−1) was reached when Bekipor ST 20AL3 mesh was used as a support for electroactive substance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
