Highlights Eucalyptus enzymatic hydrolysate contained mixture of glucose and xylose sugars. Carnobacterium sp. produced lactic acid from eucalyptus enzymatic hydrolysate. Glucose was consumed faster and completely rather than xylose during fermentation. Fed-batch fermentation improved lactic acid production and reached 30 g/L.
