Extruded disc fragments may migrate posterior to the thecal sac. Magnetic resonance images of a posterior disc fragment may mimic those of other more common posterior epidural lesions.
In advanced PD associated with either a medically refractory state with significant off periods or levodopa-induced dyskinesias, magnetic resonance imaging-guided pallidotomy with macrostimulation was associated with minimal morbidity and yet significantly reduced dyskinesia and off-period disability. These improvements were of value to the patient and persisted beyond the 1st year.
The authors have preliminarily shown that regeneration occurs both electrophysiologically and histologically with a double-TLN jump graft. Clinically, this method could offer an alternative strategy for the technique and timing of neuroma repair.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
