L'évolution du taux de greffage a été étudiée dans le cas des ABS en fonction: de la nature et de la concentration en promoteur (AIBN, Bz2O2) du taux de conversion et de la concentration en monomère de la concentration et de la structure du polybutadiène. On montre les conséquences de l'adsorption préférentielle du promoteur sur le polybutadiéne. L'importance de la nature du promoteur et de la structure de l'élastomère a pu être soulignée; ces deux paramètres étant étroitement liés à la réactivité des radicaux primaires et des macroradicaux présents dans le milieu réactionnel. Ainsi le greffage faible obtenu en présence d'AIBN comparé à celui obtenu en présence de Bz2O2 est la conséquence d'une stabilité accrue des radicaux provenant de la décomposition de l'AIBN, entrainant une incapacité de transférer des hydrogénes placés en position allylique sur un polybutadiène à structure 1‐4 cis ou trans. Par contre en présence de structures 1‐2 vinyl qui comportent des hydrogènes en position allylique et tertiaire, l'énergie d'activation de l'initiation du greffage par transfert est abaissée, permettant à l'AIBN d'initier le greffage. Par ailleurs, avec Bz2O2 le copolymère greffé est essentiellement formé par transfert d'un radical primaire sur un hydrogène allylique du polybutadiène, plutôt que par ouverture de la double liaison.

Vitesse de polymkrisation dans la reaction de greffage -Retardation -Solvatation prefkrentielle par les promoteurs Par JEAN-LOUIS LOCATELLI et GERARD RIESS (Date d'arrivee le 19 janvier 1973) RESUME : L'Btude de la vitesse de polymerisation dans la reaction de greffage appliquee aux resines ABS (polybutadikne-g (styrkne-co-acrylonitrile)), a permis de souligner l'importance du facteur concentration et structure du polybutadihe.Une analyse approfondie de l'effet de retardation introduit par le polybutadiitne dans cette reaction par rapport h la polymerisation en absence d'6lastomkre, a montre l'existence d'une correlation entre cet effet et les diverses causes Bnoncees ci-dessous : teneur en structure 1-2 vinyl du polybutadibne efficacite des radicaux dans le milieu polybutadihe repartition de ces radicaux au sein de la solution.Ainsi cette retardation, qui peut disparaitre en presence de polybutadiene a forte teneur en structure 1-2 vinyl, est la consequence principalement d'une association des phenomenes suivants : une efficacite reduite des radicaux primaires dans le milieu polybutadihe par la creation de macroradicaux plus stables et moins reactifs une repartition non homogitne des radicaux dans la solution et notamment une supconcentration de ces derniers dans le milieu polybutadihe et ayant pour cause une adsorption selective du promoteur par le polybutadihe une reduction du facteur d'efficacite du promoteur, resultant d'un effet cage accru dans le milieu polybutadikne de plus forte viscosit6 et de la surconcentration du promoteur dam cette phase. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG :Die Geschwindigkeit der Bildung von ABS-Polymerisaten durch Pfropfung wurde untersucht, wobei die Wichtigkeit der Polybutadienstruktur und dessen Konzentration zum Vorschein kommt.Bei der Polymerisation in Gegenwart von Polybutadien entsteht ein Verzogerungseffekt. Es ergibt sich eine Korrelation zwischen diesem Effekt und dem 1-2Vinylgehalt des Polybutadiens, der Radikahusbeute in der Polybutadienphase sowie der Verteilung der Radikale in der Losung.
