e aim of this research is to compile the researches that include teachers' opinions about this method in the years following the transition to the sound-based clause method (SBCM), and to examine clues about the adaptations to be made while teaching the mild mental disability group by examining from di erent aspects. For this purpose, the studies about the causes and problems of the students who have problems in literacy teaching between 2005-2019 have been determined and examined. e documents obtained during the research process were obtained in an electronic format via the internet. In the current research, Google Academic search engine, Higher Education Council (YÖK) web site of National esis Center was used to reach the documents. ese databases were accessed by using keywords such as "special learning di culties" and "teaching reading and writing". As a result of the study, the researches covering the period in which the sound based sentence method was not used were not included in the present research. In addition, only one of the researches with both thesis and article produced from the thesis was evaluated. e studies were analyzed with descriptive analysis. e studies to be examined within the scope of the research are presented with tables and interpreted.
