The social perspective on professions emerges in job descriptions. As a result, job descriptions are shaped according to the structure of the society. In the definitions related to social work discipline and field of study; Factors such as journal articles, professional studies dealing with social work, state policy, effectiveness of the profession in the field of practice, participatory dictionaries, social media, undergraduate and associate education in social work, environmental factors, cultural factors, and parental influence can be said to be effective.In this study, social work area and social worker concepts were evaluated in terms of collaborative hypertext dictionaries. With the descriptive content analysis technique, eleven collaborative hypertext dictionaries were evaluated over two main categories determined in the field of social work. The research focused on the field of social work and the definitions that exist on the field employees. As a result of the findings, it was seen that many factors affect the definition of social work. Collaborative hypertext dictionaries, which have an important place among these factors; The impact on the people who will choose the field, the impressions it leaves in the society and how these perceptions affect the field of social work are emphasized. As a result of the study, it is seen that there are many definitions in the collaborative hypertext dictionaries that contain positive and negative expressions about the social work area and field employees. By means of the definitions made, perceptions about the social work field and social worker formed in the society have been evaluated. The study focused on these problems; It aims to correctly promote the social work discipline needed in all areas of society and to eliminate false perceptions.
