The modified SHA1 algorithm has been developed by expanding its hash value up to 1280 bits from the original size of 160 bit. This was done by allocating 32 buffer registers for variables A, B, C and D at 5 bytes each. The expansion was done by generating 4 buffer registers in every round inside the compression function for 8 times. Findings revealed that the hash value of the modified algorithm was not cracked or hacked during the experiment and testing using powerful online cracking tool, bruteforce and rainbow table such as CrackingStation and Rainbow Crack and bruteforcer which are available online thus improved its security level compared to the original SHA1.
The study endeavored to predict the number of students who will enroll in Surigao del Sur State University using the historic data from 2010-2015. It was accomplished to utilize two existing methods to form its model in forecasting the enrolment data of the University. To project the number of students enrolled at the university, regression analysis, and a multiplicative decomposition model is used. The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of the forecasted enrolment data was 3.10 percent, according to the results. This only demonstrated that the estimated data were similar to the actual data, implying that it is accurate. The predicted enrolment data can be used to support decision-making and as an input to the University Development Plan.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of Users computer security behaviour on the spread of computer viruses. This paper used the AIDS model found in Net logo which characterized the propagation of virus in order to predict future threats and its rate of infection over a period of time. Findings revealed that computer virus infection was largely dictated by the behaviour characteristics of the computer users. Such behaviour characteristics may deter to facilitate the spread of the virus. In turn, informed users were more likely to exercise caution and observe practices that stop the spread of the virus.
NComputing Technology is becoming increasingly important and is being used both in academe and business industry because of its capability of saving energy and maintenance costs. However, the adoption of this technology faces with concerns particularly in end users experiences. The paper aimed to examine the collection of some of the issues and challenges facing the NComputing technology adoption in academe particularly in Surigao del Sur State University and offered an initial roadmap to view the challenges and problems for further research. Findings revealed that most of the students were not satisfied with the performance of this technology. But, for technical support, they found it easy to maintain and troubleshoot.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
