In this study it is aimed to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence, core self evaluation and life satisfaction of college students and to determine whether emotional intelligence and core self evaluation predict life satisfaction or not. Study was carried out in accordance with relational survey model. The study group contains the students with age ranges vary from 17 to 21. The study group includes the university students of Duzce University's (Turkey) different classes of Faculty of Education, Health Faculty, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Management whose ages range from 17 to 21, 101 of whom are males (31.7%), 218 of whom are females (68.3%), 319 in total, selected with cluster sampling method randomly, and participate in the study voluntarily. In the study, The Life Satisfaction Scale, Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire-SF and The Core-Self Evaluation Scale was used. In the consequence of the analysis, it was observed that, there were significant relations between emotional intelligence, core-self evaluation and life satisfaction. Emotional intelligence and core-self evaluation clarify 34% of variance in life satisfaction.
ABSTRACT. This research was carried out to investigate psychological resilience of university students along with Trait EQ. The participants were composed of 766 students of whom 243 were male and 523 were female from six different faculties of Necmettin Erbakan University- Multiple regression analysis and t-test were conducted to analyze the data. Pearson product moment correlation coefficients were calculated in order to examine the relation between Resilience of university students and Trait Emotional EQ. The results showed that there was a significant positive relation between psychological resilience scores and TEQ subscales of university students. Well being, Self Discipline, Emotionality and Sociability subscales of TEQ accounted for 44% of the variance. Well being and Sociability subdimensions of TEQ significantly explain the psychological resilience. Key Words: Psychological Resilience, Trait EQ SUMMARY Purpose and significance: The purpose of the study is to investigate the relation between psychological resilience and Trait EQ dimensions of university students. It is the first study which brings into trait EQ subdimensions and psychological resilience of university students.
Araştırmanın amacı ergenlerde benlik saygısı ve sosyal desteğin depresyon semptomlarıyla ilişkisinde yaşam amaçlarının aracılık rolünü incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu 509 (337 kadın, 172 erkek) ergen oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama araçları Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği, Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçekleri-Yaşam Amaçları Alt Ölçeği ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeğidir. Veriler betimsel istatistik, korelasyon ve regresyon analizi yöntemleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular ergenlerde benlik saygısı ve sosyal destekle depresyon semptomları arasındaki ilişkiye yaşam amaçlarının kısmi aracılık ettiğini göstermektedir. Bu bulgu ergenlerde benlik saygısı ve sosyal desteğin depresyon semptomları üzerindeki etkisinde yaşam amaçlarının önemini ortaya koymaktadır.
