Improving indoor environmental conditions and, thus, health standards will have a direct impact on the performance of the employees and, thus, organisations and on the wealth of the community. The indoor air quality, lighting, ergonomics, acoustics and health complaints scales are widely used to determine building performance levels. The research model was tested using responses from 362 employees in 25 diverse hospitals. The results indicate that building comfort level assessments play a critical role in influencing the health complaints and building general sufficiency level judgements of the employees. These judgements differ from each other for the hospital groups classified according to the ownership criteria. This study will support a better evaluation of development policies of workplace environmental conditions by managers.
Educational institutions have been increasingly started to use information technologies (ITs) for improving the service quality and achieving the effective organizational outputs in a competitive global environment. An individual's intention to use ITs is a crucial factor in determining the success or failure of an information technology (IT) system implementation. This study attempts to investigate the factors affecting the intention to use ITs from the academicians' perspectives in Turkey. This research extends the technology acceptance model (TAM) framework with subjective norm (SN) and facilitating conditions (FC) acting as external variables. The model has been tested using web-based data collected from 510 academicians. The findings demonstrate that this extended TAM can explain 80% of the variance of intention to use ITs. And also, SN and FC are potential variables that may be used to extend the TAM for the research on the academicians' intention to use towards ITs. This study reveals that educational managers can use this research model as a helpful tool in better understanding stakeholders' behaviors related to the technology acceptance, and also in the process of IT investment, implementation and renovation.
This study based on literature review aims to evaluate and emphasize the affect of the strategic facility management (SFM) on choice of medical tourism destination. Medical Tourism, which ranges from the health care services involving a cure to the wellness services involving no specific health trouble to pleasure and amusement services, is one of the most growing sectors in the world. Cost and quality of medical services are among the main reasons for the choice of destination. Strategic facility management has a positive correlation on the levels of quality, cost and customer satisfaction. Thus medical tourism and destination managers should take into account of the potential advantages of value creation offered through SFM in order to be chosen by customers (stakeholders).
