Im Sommer des Jahres 1667 fiihrte Denis, Professor der Phflosophie und Mathematik in Paris unter Mithilfe des Chirurgen Emmeriz die erstc Transfusion yon Tierblut bei Menschen aus. Naehdem vorher bei Tieren entsprechende Versuche untemommen worden waren, hatte man das Verfahren auch auf den Menschen iibertragen. Es handelte sich um einen 16--17j/~hrigen fieberkranken, sehr heruntergekommenen Jungen, dem 270 g Lammblut intravenSs verabfolgt wurden. •aeh 8 Stunden soll sich das Befinden bedeutend gebessert haben. Dieser Erfolg ermunterte zu neuen Versuchen; unter anderen erhielt ein gesunder Lasten-tr~ger 600 g obigen Tierblutes, ohne den geringsten Schaden zu leiden. Ein Geistes-]cranker, der yon heftigem Wahnsinn befallen war, bekam 180 g Tierblut, nachdem ihm vorher 200 g Blur abgelassen worden waren. Der Erfolg war zufriedenstellend; es trat Beruhigung und allgemeine Besserung ein; nach einigen Tagen fling man auf eine grSflere Menge, darauf stellte sieh Hitzegefiihl am Arm, Druck auf der Brust, unregelm~13iger Puls, Nasenbluten ein, der Ham nahm eine dunkle Farbe an. Bei der dritten Infusion, die einige Tage sparer ausgefiihr~ wurde, starb dcr Mann plStzlich unter Kr~mpfen. Dieses Vorkommnis, sowie /~hnliche andere iible Zuf~lle ffihrten in Frankreieh und auch in England, wo durch Richard Lower und King unter anderen auch bei Geisteskranken Versuche angestellt worden waren, zu einem Verbot yon Staatswegen; in Italien war der Merhode das gleiehe Schieksal bereitet. Auch in Deutschland wurde man davon abgesehreekt, insbesonders dureh die Behauptung Purmans, seine Kranken h~tten nach Jahr und Tag noch an ,,Schafmelancholie" gelitten. In der Mitre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts erinnerten sieh die _~rzt~ der seinerzeit durchgefiihrten Versuche und nahmen das Verfahren wieder mit grol3em Eifer auf. Hasse kann als Wiedererwecker und Hauptvertreter in dieser Hinsieht bezeichnet werden. Mit seinen Schriften ,,Die Lammblut-Transfusion" und ,,l~ber Transfusion" erregte er in der damaligen Zeit in den weitesten Kreisen groBes Aufsehen. Er berichtet fiber 16 Transfusionen mit venSsem defibriniertem Mensehenblut und reiht daran 15 F~lle von direkter Lammbluttransfusion. Der Erfolg besonders bei letzterer Anwendungsart soll sehr gut gewesen sein. Als grSBten Gewinn seiner Beobachtung hebt der Verfasser hervor, dal3 er an der Lammbluttransfusion eine wesentliche Hilfe gegen Phthise gefunden habe. Die Vorzfige der direkten Transfusion arteriellen Lammblutes sollen in einer grSl3eren Wirksamkeit gegeniiber der Anwendung von Menschenblut und in der Unnotwendigkeit der Sch~digung eines Menschen gelegen sein. Bezfiglieh der Menge des transfundierten Blutcs wird angegeben, dab man die ~berleitung dann einstellen soll, wenn die Dyspnoe hochgradig wird und nicht zu warren, bis die fibrigen Reaktionserseheinungen stiirmisch werden. Im allgemeinen wurde bei ehronisehen Krankheiten als Einzeldosis 100--150 ccm Blut fiir Erwachsene und 20~30 ccm fiir Kinder angegeben. E.v.
