Die Beziehung des Nervensystems zu den Geschwfilsten hat naturgem~l~ ein starkes Interesse und so einfach die Beantwortung dieser Frage scheint, so wurden bisher doch maneherlei Lficken und Widersprfiche often gelassen. B. ~ischer 1 sagt in seiner allgemeinen Geschwulstlehre: ,,Erblickt man in der Funktion des Zentralnervensystems das synthetische Lebensprinzip, das die Grundlage der Individualitat des KSrpers ist und seine Einheit und Ganzheit schafft (A. Miiller), so wird man schon a priori zur Vorstellung gedrhngt, dab die Geschwulst, da sie ja die Einheit des KSrpers durchbricht und sich seinen Wachstumsgesetzen nicht unterordnet, keine Beziehung zum Nervensystem besitzt." So erscheint es fast selbstverst~ndlich, dal3 man in den Geschwfilsten eigentlich keine Nerven zu erwarten hat, die speziell der Innervation der Gew~ehszellen dienen. So selbstverst~ndlich das klingen mag, so ist es noch keineswegs erwiesen und es liegen leider noch aui3er-ordentlich wenig exakte histologische Untersuchungen fiber diese Frage vor. Zum Tell mag das wohl an der Schwierigkeit der Technik der zuverl/~ssigen Darstellung der ~erven liegen, z. T. abet anch wohl daran, da$ man eben yon vorneherein nichts erwartete. Auffallend ist in der ganzen vorliegenden Literatur, mit Ausnahme der Arbeit yon K. Meyer 1~ fiber diese Fragen, daf~ man entweder sehleehthin yon Geschwfilsten, oder allenfalls yon ,,gutartigen und bSsartigen Tumoren" spricht, ohne sich offenbar darfiber klar zu sein, da$ der Begriff der Geschwutst an sich doch ein sehr weiter ist und da$ die verschiedenen Gew/~chse doch auch biologiseh sehr ungleichwertig sind. Aul3erdem ist es gerade mit ttinblick auf die Frage der Innervation einer Geschwulst doch yon sehr grol~er Bedeutung, ob man die Primgrgesehwulst oder eine Metastase vor sich hat, was, soweit wit es iibersehen, keineswegs gentigend beachtet wurde.
