Imagine eating pizza and watching American Ninja Warrior with your daughters one night…followed by a routine checkup where the doctor requests your car keys because at 206/138, your blood pressure is too high for him to even allow you to drive. That was Eric Robbins' story three years ago, when he was busy working in the corporate world based in Kalispell, MT. His typical routine included entertaining clients, traveling, and eating out. Faced with the reality of his choices potentially leading to a life that might not include seeing his youngest children graduate from junior high school, Robbins realized that his future mirrored his older family members. He remembers seeing the multiple pills his parents and grandparents relied on, taking some medications to offset the effects of others, and knew he didn't want to go down that road. His doctor, though, made it clear that most people in his condition were in the intensive care unit, and if he wanted to continue living, things were going to have to change. After filling his prescription, he headed home and broke down with his wife: what could he do because he had tried every diet out there for the past 20 years?
