Resumo: Este estudo objetiva analisar as consequências da violência obstétrica na vida de mulheres que vivenciaram essa experiência. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, realizado com sete mulheres participantes do grupo Cirandeiras -Apoio ao Parto Humanizado e à Maternidade Ativa, no município de Vitória da Conquista-BA. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de entrevista gravada, contendo 14 perguntas abertas. Posteriormente os dados foram transcritos e analisados segundo o referencial de Bardin. A maioria das puérperas entrevistadas relataram ter conhecimento acerca da violência obstétrica e sofreram violência durante o parto. Os sentimentos desencadeados mencionados foram de frustação, impotência e revolta em relação aos profissionais. Apesar das situações vivenciadas ter afetado negativamente suas vidas, a grande maioria não desenvolveu traumas. Somente duas mulheres afirmaram se sentir traumatizadas em relação à episiotomia, por esta afetar sua vida sexual e emocional, não conseguindo ver com bons olhos essa experiência.Palavras-chave: violência obstétrica; conhecimento de puérperas; consequência da violência; saúde da mulher. Obstetric violence and its Influences on Women's Life that have experienced this RealityAbstract: This study aims to analyze the consequences of obstetric violence in the lives of women who have experienced this experience. This is a descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach, carried out with seven women participants in the Cirandeiras group -Support for Humanized Childbirth and Active Motherhood, in the city of Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. The data collection was done through recorded interview, containing 14 open questions. Subsequently the data were transcribed and analyzed according to the Bardin framework. Most mothers interviewed reported having knowledge of obstetric violence and violence suffered during childbirth. The feelings triggered mentioned were of frustration, impotence and revolt in relation to the professionals. Although the situations experienced negatively affected their lives, the vast majority did not develop any trauma. Only two women reported feeling traumatized in relation to the episiotomy, because it affected their sexual and emotional lives, and they could not see this experience well.Keywords: obstetric violence; knowledge of puerperal women; consequences of violence; women's health.
