La teoría de sistemas es una de las producciones intelectuales más importantes que se hayan desarrollado en este siglo. Su potencialidad radica en la forma cómo nos enseña a observar el mundo que nos rodea de una manera holística distinta a la forma usual reduccionista del método científico. El objetivo del presente artículo es presentar una aplicación de la metodología de sistemas blandos para la elaboración de un plan de mejora de una institución educativa superior. Esta metodología aporta un estudio cualitativo de las situaciones problemáticas que resultan de las interacciones que ocurren al interior de un sistema, colocando especial atención en quienes hacen el qué. Consta de siete pasos: las primeras dos etapas consisten en describir la situación y detectar los grupos de problemas. En la etapa tres, se utilizan un lenguaje de sistemas para describir los grupos de problemas, derivando las características de los modelos que serán propuestos para solucionarlos en la etapa cuatro. En la etapa cinco se hacen comparaciones de lo existente con lo propuesto a fin de detectar los cambios a realizar. Las etapas seis y siete consisten en definir las recomendaciones para llevar a efecto tales cambios. Se concluye que esta metodología es una buena alternativa para el diseño de un plan de mejora en una institución de educación superior.
El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la relación entre la sostenibilidad financiera y la probabilidad de quiebra de las organizaciones de la Economía Popular y Solidaria. Se desarrolló mediante un estudio no experimental de tipo descriptivo, con enfoque mixto. La población de estudio, estuvo constituida por las organizaciones de la Economía Popular y Solidaria, registradas por la Superintendencia de Economía Popular y Solidaria en el período 2018-2021. En esta línea, se utilizó la información de los estados financieros para aplicar de forma simultánea los modelos de evaluación de sostenibilidad financiera de Andrés y de probabilidad de quiebra propuesto por Altman. Aplicando el primer modelo se encontró que ningún sector está exento de vulnerabilidad. Mientras que, con respecto a la aplicación del modelo de Altman se determinó que el sector con más probabilidad de quiebra es el asociativo. Seguido a ello se compararon los dos modelos en estudio y se evidenció que al ser analizados por sectores muestran resultados similares, pero al ser aplicados por grupos los resultados son contradictorios.
El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar morfológicamente cinco poblaciones de maíz nativo y estimar sus rendimientos, empleando prácticas agrícolas sin uso de agroquímicos. El estudio se realizó en el año 2021, en el municipio de Cintalapa, Chiapas, dentro del campo experimental del Centro Académico Regional de la Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro. Las cinco poblaciones de maíz nativo fueron proporcionadas por campesinos de diferentes regiones de la entidad, con previo consentimiento informado. Las prácticas agrícolas consistieron en uso de extractos vegetales y jabón potásico con extracto de neem (Azadirachta indica) para la prevención y combate de plagas. Para la fertilización se aplicó lixiviado de lombriz roja californiana (Eisenia foetida) y guano de murciélago en su presentación comercial. Los caracteres morfológicos se evaluaron con un análisis estadístico descriptivo considerando: días de floración masculina y femenina, alturas de planta y mazorca, longitud y diámetro de la mazorca, y número de hileras por mazorca y número de granos por hilera. El rendimiento de grano se estimó mediante el peso de la mazorca cosechada de una muestra aleatoria de 20 plantas por población. Se identificaron diferencias numéricas de las variables estudiadas, lo que demuestra una diversidad genética existente. Las poblaciones que presentaron mayores rendimientos fueron Campeón y Olotillo, con 5,37 y 4,4 ton ha-1 (± 1,24), respectivamente. Los datos aportan información para diseñar estrategias de conservación de maíces nativos con manejo libre de agroquímicos.
A lo largo de las dos últimas décadas en el escenario de la educación superior latinoamericana han surgido nuevas demandas educativas, nuevos modelos institucionales diversos y flexibles, la necesidad de fortalecimientos de políticas de ingreso estudiantil, formación didáctica de los profesores, la articulación con otros niveles educativos, renovación y fortalecimiento de las formas de gobierno universitario, aseguramiento de la calidad académica. Desde este panorama, las universidades privadas adventistas de la red sudamericana vienen buscando mejoras en sus formas de operar. En esta línea de investigación se aplicó el modelo sistémico de mejora continua para la optimización de procesos académicos. El plan de mejora continua se organizó considerando la metodología de sistemas suaves en torno a sus siete etapas aplicadas al sistema académico de la Universidad Peruana Unión, como un sistema prototipo de la red de universidades adventistas del cono sudamericano. En este contexto, el objeto de estudio fue los procesos académicos de la Universidad Peruana Unión. Los objetivos alcanzados se centraron en el estudio de las características funcionales en los aspectos estratégicos, de estructura, de procesos intermedios y de resultado de los procesos académicos de matrícula, de evaluación docente, evaluación discente y de graduación. El propósito de la encuesta de inicio fue realizar el análisis exploratorio para encontrar las fallas, y luego a partir de ese diagnóstico plantear las correcciones. Las muestras de estudiantes y docentes estuvieron conformadas por 307 y 96 sujetos respectivamente, son muestras estratificadas atendiendo a la facultad en la que estuvieron matriculados o adscritos. El tipo de investigación corresponde a una investigación aplicada al campo académico tecnológico. El análisis del tratamiento estadístico se basó en el análisis exploratorio de datos (EDA) y para la prueba de hipótesis la prueba T para muestras relacionadas. Las conclusiones sobre la incidencia del modelo sistémico de mejora continua al término de su aplicación se resume: el modelo es eficiente en la optimización de los procesos de matrícula, proceso de evaluación docente, proceso de graduación y el proceso de evaluación discente: caso Universidad Peruana Unión.
