Introducción: La anemia es un hallazgo de laboratorio frecuente en la infancia, que afecta al 20% de los niños en los países desarrollados. En el mundo existen 293 millones de niños menores de cinco años con anemia. El objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar los factores que condicionan los niveles bajos de hemoglobina en niños de 6 a 36 meses en el Distrito de Churubamba 2017. Material y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, retrospectivo, en niños de 6 a 36 meses de edad con niveles bajos de hemoglobina, pertenecientes a un programa de apoyo social. Resultados: Se encontró diferencia significativa entre los bajos niveles de conocimiento de la madre sobre nutrición [p = 0,037, RP 1,27 (IC 95% 1,04-1,55)], bajo nivel socioeconómico [p = 0,000, RP 1,54 (IC 95% 1,31-1,81)], afiliación al programa JUNTOS [p = 0,000,RP = 1,53 (IC 95% 1,27-1,84)], la edad del niño [p = 0,012, RP = 1,35 (IC 95% 1,03-1,76)], el género de los niños [p = 0,000,RP = 1,47(IC 95% 1,16-1,86)], el lavado de manos [p = 0,006,RP = 1,38(IC 95% 1,15-1,67)] y el saneamiento básico [p = 0,000, RP 2,80 (IC 95% 1,91-4,09)]. Conclusiones: Existe asociación entre el bajo conocimiento nutricional de la madre, el bajo nivel socioeconómico y la intervención del programa JUNTOS, ara presentar niveles bajos de hemoglobina en niños de 6 a 36 meses.
