Las fracturas frontales del macizo craneal corresponden a una patología importante, se dan como consecuencia de traumatismos en la región superior de la cara; sus causas pueden ser diversas como: accidentes, fuertes golpes, objetos extraños, etcétera. Las clasifi caciones para este tipo de traumas fueron descritas por diferentes autores, dependiendo de la parte anatómica afectada. Caso clínico donde se reporta un paciente de sexo masculino de 29 años, demostrando una depresión en el tercio superior de la cara como secuela a trauma contundente, al cual se le ofreció un tratamiento de reconstrucción ósea con polieteretercetona a la medida, para devolver su debida anatomía y funcionalidad. Finalmente se obtuvieron resultados exitosos al tratamiento. Los materiales aloplásticos realizados a la medida son una excelente alternativa para estos procedimientos, ya que proveen menor morbilidad y excelentes resultados estéticos.
El quiste dentígero es un quiste odontogénico del desarrollo que por lo general se produce en la segunda y tercera década de la vida, es uno de los tipos más frecuentes de quistes odontogénicos, se le reporta frecuentemente en el medio geográfico Sur Americano, es ampliamente relacionado con dientes retenidos, siendo los terceros molares inferiores los más involucrados. Se presenta caso de paciente masculino con un quiste dentígero, localizado en ángulo mandibular derecho, de gran tamaño, causando deformidad facial, se describen las características clínicas, radiográficas, histopatológicas y tratamiento quirúrgico.
El ameloblastoma uniquístico es un tumor odontogénico benigno, que representa menos de un tercio de todos los ameloblastomas, comúnmente se le encuentra en la mandíbula, es el menos agresivo que otros tipos de ameloblastoma y se presenta inusualmente en niños. Se reporta caso de ameloblastoma uniquístico en una niña de 9 años, localizado en la región anterior de la mandíbula y de gran tamaño, se describen las características de la patología, tratamiento quirúrgico conservador y controles postquirúrgicos.
