Die vor kurzem erschienene Abhandlung von C. H a r r i e s a ) Elber die Hydrohalogenide der kiinstlichen und natiirlicheu Kautschukarten und die daraus regenerierbaren kautschukiihnlichen Stoffo gibt uns Veranlassung, kurz iiber einige Versuche zu berichten, die zum Teil bereits mehrere Jahre zuriickliegen, bisher aber nicht im Zusammenhange veroffentlicht sind, weil sie noch nicht abgerundet genug erschienen.Ausgangspunkt fur unsere Untersuchungen iiher verschiedene Derivate des Kautschuks war einerseits das Bestreben, zu einer einwandsfreien unmittelbaren analytischen Bestimmungsweise f i r Reinkautschuk zu gelangen, andererseits der Wunsch, durch chemische Umwandlung des Kautschuks Stoffe zu erhalten, die nicht mehr kolloide Natur besitzen und mefibares Molekulargewicht aufweisen.
