At the Savannah River Site (SRS) there are 51 storage/process vessels in the Tank Farms ranging between 750,000 gallons to greater than 1,000,000 gallons capacities. The high-level waste (HLW) at the SRS primarily consists of neutralized/pH adjusted waste from the Plutonium Uranium Extraction (PUREX) or H-Modified (HM) PUREX processes. The waste also consists of a small fraction of Thorium Extraction (THOREX) process and other specialized campaigns.
