Ao percorrer 1870-1930, contabilizando 60 anos da História do Japão no final do século XIX até o primeiro-quarto do século XX, é possível observar a passagem de um país isolado e fora da sintonia com a política internacional. Desta maneira, partimos da idéia de que dado o isolamento do Japão e a pressão externa para que houvesse a sua integração, o Japão busca defender sua soberania nacional expandindo sua área de influência, focando principalmente na Coréia e posteriormente na Manchúria.
ResumoNesta pesquisa analisamos como se deu a relação nipo-estadunidense, já que a mudança na conjuntura do Japão arrasado no pós-guerra se deu em grande medida pela ajuda dos EUA. Feito este primeiro panorama, nos detemos na análise da evolução econômica do Japão, nos anos ditos "dourados" que se estendem até 1973, e como foram as medidas tomadas para a superação da crise do petróleo, a retomada do crescimento e alguns aspectos da endaka e dos condicionantes da década perdida que levou ao fim do milagre econômico Palavras-chave: Japão, Estados Unidos, milagre econômico
