Das bei der GRIGNARD-Reaktion von o-Fluor-brombenzol intermediar entstehende Dehydrobenzol vereinigte sich mit Cyclopentadien im Sinne einer Diensynthese zum Kohlenwasserstoff V, dessen Struktur bewiesen wurde. Das im Zuge der Konstitutionsermittlung hergestellte Diazomethan-Addukt IXa lieB sich beim Erhitzen mit Kupferpulver in das desmotrope Pyrazolin 1Xb umlagern. Der dienophile Charakter des Dehydrobenzols gab sich auch im Verhalten gegeniiber Tetraphenyl-cyclopentadienon zu erkennen, das bei der Anlagerungsreaktion unter Kohlenoxydabspaltung 1.2.3.4-Tetraphenyl-naphthalin lieferte. Die Umsetzung von o-Fluor-brombenzol mit Magnesium in Tetrahydrofuran verlief wie eine normale GRIGNARD-Reaktion unter Warmeentwicklung und lieferte neben einer glasartigen Masse Triphenylen in 20-proz. Ausbeute. Anscheinend bildete sich zunachst o-Fluor-~heny~-~g~e~iumbromid, das unter Abspaltung von Magnesiumfluoridbromid in Dehydrobenzol (I) iiberging : I, das vereinfachend mit einer Dreifachbindung formuliert ist, polymerisierte sich dann u. a. zum nachgewiesenen Triphenylenl). Nach 15 Min. erfolgte keine Wasserstoffaufnahme mehr, nachdem 247 ccm (730 Torr), entsprechend 99 % d. Th. aufgenommen waren. Das entstandene 1.4-Methyleno-1.2.3.4-tetrahydro-naphthalin hatte den Sdp.12 78-79" und ng 1.5545; Schmp. -5.5 bis -4.5". Ausb. 80 % d. Th. CllH12 (144.2) Ber. C 91.61 H 8.39 Gef. C 91.14 H 8.30 Addition von Phenyfazid: Aus einer Mischung von 1.3 mMol Y mit 1.5 mMol Phenylazid (ohne Solvens!) begann nach 1 Stde. das Addukt auszukristallisieren. Tags darauf wurde der Kristallbrei auf Ton abgaprei3t und aus Athanol gereinigt. Ausb. 98 % d. Th. I-Phenyl-4.9methyleno-3 a.4.9.9a-tetrahydro-naphtho[2.3ltriarol vom Schmp. 164-164.5" (Zers.), bez. auf V .
Dehydrobenzol als reaktionsfreudiges Dienophil laBt sich bei geeigneten Partnern zur Synthese von Dihydroanthracen-Derivaten mit 0, S oder N als Briikkenatomen in 9.10-Position verwenden. Nach diesem Verfahren wurden die 0-Verbindung 111, ihr S-Analogon sowie die N-Verbindungen VlII und XI11 prapariert, deren Strukturen und Eigenschaften beschrieben werden. Besonderes Interesse verdient die Verbindung VIII mit CH3. N-Briicke, da sich die zugehorige quartare Base XI in pseudomonomolekularer Reaktion zu den cis-transisomeren Aminoalkoholen XI1 umlagert. Das ausgepragt dienophile Verhalten von Dehydrobenzol lud dazu ein, es mit Verbindungen vom Typ I mit dem Ziele umzusetzen, eine neue Verbindungsklasse I1 zuganglich zu machen, in der die beiden meso-Kohlenstoffatome des Anthracens durch 0-, S-oder N-Atome verbriickt sind. Wie aus dem Folgenden hervorgeht, bereiteten die Synthesen solcher Verbindungen keine Schwierigkeiten. I Dehydrobenzol wurde nach der ublichen Arbeitstechnikz) aus o-Fluor-brombenzol und Magnesium in Tetrahydrofuran erzeugt. Seine Einwirkung auf 2.5-Diphenyl-3.4-benzo-furan lieferte 9.10-Diphenyl-9.ZO-oxido-dihydroanthracen (111) vom Schmp. 188-188.5'. Die Struktur I11 folgt aus der glatt verlaufenden Reduktion zum 9.10-Diphenyl-anthracen mit Zink in Eisessig.
Die Addukte von Dehydrobenzol .an Cyclopentadien und Furan (I1 und IV) sind thermisch stabil und lassen sich nicht reversibel in ihre Ausgangskomponenten aufspalten. Ayf Grund der Reaktivitgt ihrer C=C-Bindung im Fiinfring sind sie aber befahigt, ihrerseits mit Dienen im Sinne einer DIELS-ALDER-Anlagerung Umsetzungen einzugehen. Da die aus IV rnit Anthracen, Pentacen, Acridin und Phenazin erhaltenen Addukte rnit Acetanhydrid und SalzsiIure zu Benzotriptycen VI, Tribenzotriptycen X bzw. den Iso-aza-tnptycen-Derivaten XI1 und XIV zu dehydratisieren sind, eraffnet sich damit ein neuer Wee, Naphthalin Uber seine 2.3-Kohlenstoffatome rnit Dien-Systemen zu verkniipfen. Ab-schlieOend wird iiber eine schon bei Raumtemperaturvor sich gehende Anlagerung von IV an 2.5-Diphenyl-3.4-benmfwan berichtet..Wie in der vorstehenden Mitteilungl) erortert wurde, liiBt sich Dehydrobenzol in einer Diels-Alder-Reaktion wold an Anthracen zum Triprycen anlagern, nicht aber rnit Acridin zum Azu-rriptycen (I) vereinigen, da Dehydrobenzol in seiner dipolaren Grenzform den elektrophilen Angriff auf das heterocyclische System bevorzugt.Auf der Suche nach neuen Wegenabseits von der Basis der Lithium-und Magnesium-halogenbemole, die als Quelle zur Bildung von Dehydrobenzol dientenging man der Uberlegung nach, das aus Dehydrobenzol und Cyclopentadien leicht zugangliche Merfiyleno-difiydronupfirfiufin ZZZ) thermisch in seine Komponenten zuriickzuspalten und in Gegenwart von Anthracen in Triprycen uberzufiihren. Dabei sollte die Fiihigkeit des Cyclopentadiens, mit Eisen(II)-chlorid das sehr stabile Ferroceti zu bilden, zum Abfangen des Kohlenwasserstoffes ausgeniitzt werden. I Im Modellversuch mit Cyclopentudien, Eisen(I1)-chlorid und Triiithylamin bei 220' gewann man Ferrocen in einer Ausbeute von 18 % d. Th.3). Als man aber I1 denselben Bedingungen unterwarf, wurde es praktisch unveriindert zuriickgewonnen, ohne daB Ferrocen nachzuweisen war.
