Neste artigo, analisamos a forma como a tradição profética do Segundo Isaías utiliza o tema da criação como recurso retórico e mnemônico durante a reconstrução da comunidade judaíta no exílio, após as deportações do século VI AEC. Para isso, analisamos inicialmente os estudos sobre os impactos do fenômeno diaspórico na construção de identidades coletivas na Antiguidade. Em seguida, partimos para uma discussão sobre a memória coletiva e seus mecanismos de transmissão entre gerações frente ao trauma e à destruição. Por fim, a partir dos capítulos 43 e 44 de Isaías, analisamos como a profecia recupera e ressignifica o tema da Criação, analisando os possíveis impactos dessa temática na reconstrução dos laços coletivos e representações culturais na diáspora, durante os séculos VI e V AEC.
