La innovación es uno de los temas centrales que explican el desempeño económico de los países. Sin embargo, no todas las naciones han desarrollado las capacidades necesarias para generar innovaciones comerciables y aprovechar sus beneficios. Tomando como unidad de análisis a los países de la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE), el presente trabajo parte de la hipótesis que indica que la capacidad de innovación de estas naciones se encuentra determinada positivamente por sus instituciones, su infraestructura, su capital humano, su sofisticación de mercado y su sofisticación de negocios. El instrumento utilizado para medir estas relaciones fue un modelo lineal generalizado (GLM, por sus siglas en inglés). Los resultados sugieren que tres de los cinco determinantes seleccionados son estadísticamente significativos. El mayor poder explicativo del modelo se encontró en la sofisticación de negocios, seguida del capital humano y la sofisticación de mercado.
El objetivo del presente trabajo es establecer las variables que han sido determinantes para el desarrollo local en Mineral Pozos Guanajuato a través del programa Pueblos Mágicos, con base en una encuesta de percepción aplicada a la población de esta localidad. La metodología empleada para el análisis de los datos fue un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales por el método de mínimos cuadrados parciales (PLS-SEM). Algunos de los principales resultados se orientan a que la variable económica del desarrollo local ha sido la responsable de los cambios hacia el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de la población local.
El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo medir la desigualdad educativa en los municipios del estado de Oaxaca utilizando para ello una adaptación del coeficiente de Gini, tanto para la población en general como para la población masculina y femenina por separado, con datos del año 2015. Los resultados sugieren que las condiciones de mayor desigualdad se encontraron en los municipios de Santa María Apazco, Coicoyán de las Flores, San Miguel Santa Flor, San Martín Peras y Santa María la Asunción. Llama la atención que los centros urbanos importantes del estado no se encontraron entre los municipios más igualitarios. Los coeficientes encontrados también revelaron una mayor desigualdad educativa entre las mujeres en comparación con los hombres, en 556 de los 566 municipios estudiados.
En la presente investigación se analizan los principales factores de atracción de inversión extranjera directa en México en el periodo de 1995 a 2015, siendo estos el crecimiento económico, la inestabilidad económica, los impuestos, el costo de mano de obra, tamaño de mercado y el tipo de cambio nominal establecidos con base en la teoría y a las evidencias empíricas. Dicho análisis se hará mediante el uso de un modelo econométrico, mediante la metodología de series de tiempo con periodicidad trimestral, siendo el modelo autorregresivo con retardos distribuidos (ARDL), adicionalmente se realizan pruebas para determinar la estacionariedad de las variables como lo es la prueba de raíz unitaria (Dickey-Fuller aumentada), pruebas de cointegración a largo y corto plazo a través de las pruebas a largo plazo y la prueba de corrección de errores, así como la prueba de normalidad (Jarque-Bera), heterocedasticidad y de autocorrelación (Breush-Godfrey). De tal manera se demuestra que existe integración a largo plazo y a corto plazo, así como se muestra que el crecimiento económico, tipo de cambio y el tamaño de mercado tienen una relación positiva y significativa en la atracción de IED, así mismo se determinaron las relaciones negativas significativas que tuvieron los impuestos y el costo de mano de obra
