Suriye krizi başladığı 2011 yılından bu yana ülkemiz ve bölge ülkeleri için ciddi riskler içermektedir. Savaş nedeniyle ülkesini terk etmek zorunda kalan çok sayıda sığınmacıdan kaynaklı etkiler bu risklerin başında gelmektedir. Yerel halkın sığınmacılara karşı tutumu, sürecin ve krizin yönetimi bağlamında politika belirleyiciler için dikkate alınması gereken önemli bir husustur. Bu çalışmada, Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü öğrencileri özelinde Suriyeli sığınmacılara bakış açısı ele alınmaktadır. Örneklem grubuna uygulanan anket ile, sosyal uyum kuramlarının "kişiler arası iletişimin uygun şartlar altında, çoğunluk ve azınlık grup üyeleri arasındaki önyargıların azaltılmasında en etkili yöntemlerden birisi olduğu" savı sınanmıştır. Sosyal temas kuramı bağlamında, örneklem grubunda 'Türkiye'ye göç yoluyla gelen aile üyesi veya yakın akrabası olduğunu' beyan edenler ile 'herhangi bir göç geçmişi olmayanlar' arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunup bulunmadığı araştırılmış; bunun neticesinde teoriyi destekler nitelikte anlamlı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.Ulaşılan sonuçlar, genel anlamda Suriyeli sığınmacılara ilişkin olumsuz bir tutum olduğunu göstermekte ise de, bu olumsuz tutum, göç geçmişi olan kişiler arasında göreli olarak düşük bir seviyededir. Her ne kadar göç geçmişi olanlar ve olmayanlar arasında anlamlı bir fark gözlense de, bu durum her iki grubun da Suriyeli sığınmacılara yönelik olumsuz bir tutum
