This work deals with the relationship between social values and sociological function of sport which is a social issue with all its aspects. Sport, both affects and being affected by social structure and processes. In this respect, this work aims to discuss current situation about the relationship between sport and socialvalues. This discussion is starts with the sport’s role on the production of moral values and then focuses a breakthrough which occured at sport’s affects on social values. Accordingly, industrialization of sport, brings with it the aim of win as an highest value. This position of the aim of win, exulcerated sport’s moral values, especially fair play. Sporun ahlâki değerlerin üretiminde nasıl bir rol oynadığı ve oynayabileceği ile başlatılan söz konusu tartışma, sporun toplumsal değerler üzerindeki etkisinde yaşanan bir kırılmaya odaklanmaktadır. Buna göre sporun endüstriyelleşmesi, kazanma hedefinin en üst değer olmasını beraberinde getirmiştir. Kazanmanın bu konuma gelmesi, fair play başta olmak üzere spordaki ahlâki değerlerin hemen hepsini aşındırmış ve bu durum da toplumdaki değerleri olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir.
In the study conducted, it was aimed to examine the communication levels of university students doing sports and having sedentary life style. The study universe of the study consisted of 304 students in total of which 124 female students and 180 male students of Adnan Menderes University in 2015-2016 education year. Students having the habit of doing sports regularly were selected from School of Physical Education and Sports and students having sedentary life style were selected from Faculty of Communication and Faculty of ScienceLiterature. ''Scale for Evaluation of the Communication Skills'' was used in the determination of communication skills of the participants. Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H Test in SPSS 22.0 package program were utilized for statistical analysis of the data collected. At the end of the study, it was found that communication skills levels of students having the habit of doing sports regularly and students having sedentary life style did not show statistically significant difference according to gender, age range, status of doing sports regularly, place of living and type of high school graduated from (p>0.05). In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between burnout levels and job satisfaction of sports facilities managers. The universe of the research is composed of sports facility managers who are active in 2019 in the Istanbul region and actively functioning in 2019, and the sample is composed of 126 sports facility managers who participated in the research in a random and voluntary manner. A questionnaire including demographic information form, Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory was applied to the participants. Among the burnout subscales, the level of emotional exhaustion is low, the personal accomplishment subscale score is high, and the depersonalization subscale is medium. It was determined that the job satisfaction of the participants was high according to the job satisfaction total scores. There is a strong positive correlation between burnout and burnout subdimensions (p <0.05, β = 0.664, β = 0.878, β = 0.444). There is a strong positive relationship between job satisfaction and job satisfaction sub-dimensions (p <0.05, β = 0.917, β = 0.909). There was no statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction subscales and burnout subscales (p> 0.05). The relationship between total burnout score and job satisfaction total scores was not statistically significant (p> 0.05). As a result, there was no statistically significant relationship between burnout and job satisfaction.
The aim of this study is to investigate the dependence levels and loneliness status of students studying in sports sciences. The study group of the study consisted of 204 sports science students, 68 women and 136 men with an average age of 20.75 ± 2.47. For the purpose of collecting data, “Exercise Dependancy Scale” developed by Tekkurşun-Demir, Hazar and Cicioğlu (2018) and the“Loneliness Scale” Turkish adaptation of the scale was made by Demir (1989) were used. Descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage and Mann Whitney U, Kruskall Wallis and Spearman Correlation analysis were used for data analysis. According to the findings of the study, it was observed that students were in the dependent group rarely experienced loneliness. A significant difference was found in the loneliness score of the students according to gender. Significant differences were found in the postponement of exercise dependence scale, individual and social needs and conflict sub-dimension according to students’ were being licensed. According to the frequency of participation in the exercise, there was a significant difference between the postponement of individual and social needs of the exercise dependence scale and the development of the conflict, tolerance and passion. In the correlation analysis of the scales, no significant relationship was found between loneliness and exercise dependence. As a result, in our study, although it was seen that the loneliness levels of the students studying in sports sciences were low, it was concluded that male students were lonelier than female students. In addition, it can be said that students are included in the exercise dependent group, because of the fact that these students are kneaded with sports and due to their sports background, they can adjust the dose and duration of the exercise correctly, and thus they do not postpone their social and individual needs as a part of their lives.
