Introdução. A ultracavitação (UC) é uma das técnicas não invasiva frequentemente utilizada para redução da gordura localizada. A maioria dos estudos envolvendo este tipo de recurso tem como desfecho primário as alterações estéticas ocorridas, pouco se investigando as alterações relacionadas ao metabolismo lipídico. Objetivo. Descrever a resposta dos triglicerídeos de homens submetidos a sessões de UC. Materiais e Métodos. Incluídos homens com idade entre 40 e 50 anos, circunferência abdominal (CA) > 90 cm, classificados como ativos ou sedentários. Excluídos indivíduos dislipidêmicos, diabéticos, tabagistas, com alterações hepáticas e/ou renais, doenças cardiovasculares, em uso de medicações emagrecedoras e/ou termogênicas ou que já tivessem realizado algum tratamento estético para adiposidade abdominal. Os indivíduos foram divididos em grupo ativo (GA) e sedentário (GS) e submetidos a oito sessões de UC em região abdominal e flancos com intervalo de sete dias entre elas. Coletadas amostras sanguíneas imediatamente antes e 24h após cada sessão para dosagem dos triglicerídeos plasmáticos (TG). Resultados. Avaliados seis indivíduos. Houve elevação na média dos TG entre a primeira e oitava sessão de 17mg/dL no GS, enquanto no GA foi de 34 mg/dL. Já em relação a CA houve uma redução média de 4cm no GS, enquanto que no GA esta redução foi de 8cm. Conclusão. Sessões de UC aumentam os TG de homens saudáveis, independente do nível de atividade física.
