Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) mainly causes acute respiratory disease, but it can also cause multiple organ failure. 14% to 76.3% of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients have abnormal liver function tests, 1-7 and these patients have been reported to be more likely to progress to severe pneumonia. However, these data come from Chinese populations, and there are no specific data on COVID-19 patients in Europe.
