Collection was undertaken at 12 sites along the main and secondary canals during the dry period in 2013 and during the rainy period in 2014. Analyses comprised pH, electrical conductivity, sodium, total dissolved solids, hardness, calcium, magnesium, iron, turbidity, chlorate, sulfate, bicarbonate, total and fecal coliforms. There was a certain limitation with regard to pH and Fe with regard to the conservation of irrigation equipments since they may rust due to the irrigation system. Electrical conductivity of water was detected during the experimental period and it may cause heavy soil density and, consequently, difficulty in water infiltration. Fecal and total coliforms were detected at all sites during the four collections. Care should be taken in the irrigation of vegetables since they are eaten raw. In the case of salinity and sodicity, water was good for irrigation throughout the irrigation canal during the dry and rainy period.
