Palavras-chaves: herbicida, plantio direto, sistemas de integraçãoAbstract -The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of doses of paraquat and glyphosate on desiccation Brachiaria ruziziensis, the ability of regrowth and formation of biomass for the integration of crop-livestock system. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replications. The rates glyphosate were 0, 90, 180, 360, 720 and 1440 g ha -1 and paraquat were 0, 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 g ha -1 . Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that paraquat was ineffective in desiccation B. ruziziensis and the glyphosate was only effective at rates of 720 and 1440g ha -1 . There was no issuance of new tillers after desiccation with glyphosate plant forage to allow practical use for management in integration of croplivestock system.
The species that can be used as cover plants are many, which makes it difficult to make a choice, since there is no ideal plant, and it is necessary to make a survey of the most favorable species. The objective of this study was to evaluate the biomass productivity of cover crops in autumn and winter (Poaceaea and Fabaceae), and their effects on soil physical properties at different depths. The experimental design was of randomized blocks with subdivided plots, with six replications. The plots consisted of four cover crops in autumn and winter; two Poaceae (black oats and brachiaria) and two Fabaceae (fried pea and white lupine). The subplots were at different depths of evaluations; 0 -0.05; 0.05 -0.10 and 0.10 -0.15 m to determine the pore volume and soil density; and 0 to 0.40 m to resistance to penetration. Were evaluated: dry mass yield; soil surface cover index; volume of macropores, micropores, total porosity; soil density; and soil resistance to penetration. It was verified that the family of plants Fabaceae showed higher dry matter yield (4400 kg•ha −1 ), however, the lower soil cover rate (68.71%). The highest volume of macropores (0.05 m 3 •m −3 ) and the lowest soil resistance to penetration were observed in the soil cultivated with Poaceae family cover plants, in the respective depths of 0 -0.10 m and 0.05 -0.20 m.
STRAW DISTRIBUTION FOR COMBINES IN THE HARVEST OF SOYBEAN ABSTRACT:The difficulty of getting a uniform residues distribution, in the width of the combine cutting ban, have been observed in crop fields. The objective of this work was to evaluate the uniformity of straw distribution for combines harvesting soybean. It was appraised nine combines in the operation conditions and adjustment that they were being used by the operator. The Coefficient of Variation (CV) was used for comparison of the machines and the evaluation of the distribution uniformity, and had accomplished a multivariate analysis to evaluate the similarity among the combines in function of the coefficient of variation, humidity of the straw and width of the cut platform. All the combines had presented a disuniform straw distribution, resulting in bands, with raised straw concentration in the combine central part and little in the extremities, independently of the width of the cut platform. But a combine presented distribution next to the ideal, for also possessing a delivering system for the straw proceeding from the bolters. One evidenced that the deriving straw of the combine bolters can be the responsible for the formation of bands with raised amounts of straw in the combine center, independently of the machine size.
The evaluations were accomplished in four times (4, 6, 8 and 10 months). The increase of the soil density levels didn't influence in the development of the aerial part of the peach palm seedlings. Independent of the studied time, the clayly Latossol density levels, didn't prevent the peach palm roots penetration. Key words: root system, Bactris gasipaes, soil densityAs mobilizações intensivas do solo, sob condições inadequadas de umidade e de cobertura vegetal, modificam a estrutura física do solo. Desta forma, dividem a profundidade do solo explorada pelas plantas em camada arável pulverizada, superficial e camada compactada subsuperficial (DENARDIN & KOCHHANN, 1997).
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of weed competition on the accumulation of nitrogen and phosphorus in the leaves and on the dry weight of the roots of cassava (Manihot esculenta) in the conventional and no-tillage systems, in two crop cycles. The experiments were carried out in a randomized complete block design, with split-split plots and four replicates. The plots consisted of conventional tillage or no-tillage; the split plots, of the competition or not with weeds; and the split-split plots, of the evaluation periods (0, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, and 225 days after planting/pruning). In the first cycle, weed competition reduced the accumulation of nitrogen in 82.6 and 81.3% and of phosphorus in 65.7 and 85.3% under conventional tillage and no-tillage, respectively. In the second cycle, the reductions in the accumulation of nitrogen were of 41.1 and 52.4% and of phosphorus of 44.1 and 52.6%, in conventional tillage and no-tillage, respectively. The root dry weight of cassava grown with weed competition showed reductions of 15.8 and 11.2% under conventional tillage and no-tillage, respectively, only in the second cycle. Weed competition reduces the accumulation of nitrogen and phosphorus in the leaves of cassava in the conventional and no-tillage systems in both crop cycles, but reduces the dry matter of cassava roots only in the second cycle.
