ResumoA perda de parte da estrutura dentária compromete significativamente a qualidade de vida do indivíduo. A estética dental pode influenciar o comportamento social e a autoestima também de crianças, que quando acometidas por problemas desta natureza revelam insegurança ao sorrir, brincar e até mesmo socializar-se com outras crianças. Os incisivos centrais representam 96% das fraturas em dente, sendo 13% destas em crianças menores de 12 anos. O presente estudo relata o caso de uma criança com 7 anos de idade, que sofreu traumatismo nos elementos 11 e 21, resultando em perda dos ângulos mésioincisais, mas sem comprometimento pulpar. A idade do paciente e a necessidade de manutenção das estruturas remanescente foram decisivas na opção pela confecção de restaurações adesivas diretas, e a resina nanohibrida IPS Empress Direct (Ivoclar Vivadent AG, Liechtenstein) foi o material restaurador de escolha devido à sua translucência, fluorescência, textura e brilho de superfície, semelhantes ao da estrutura perdida. A reconstrução dentária adesiva direta é considerada um grande desafio para o cirurgião-dentista, pois a obtenção de restaurações imperceptíveis com padrão máximo em estética, qualidade e funcionalidade requer planejamento prévio, conhecimento científico e habilidade técnica por parte do profissional, baseados em um protocolo clínico reabilitador detalhado, além da utilização de materiais de excelência capazes de mimetizar os dentes naturais, restabelecendo a estética dental e do sorriso do indivíduo de forma natural.
