Diabetes mellitus (DM) dapat menyebabkan gangguan fungsi seksual normal pada pria termasuk kelainan fungsi orgasme / ejakulasi dan keinginan / libido. Simplisia kulit buah jengkol kering telah digunakan oleh masyarakat untuk mengobati DM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas ekstrak etanol kulit buah jengkol (A. pauciflorum) (EEKBJ) dalam meningkatkan fertilitas tikus ditinjau dari perilaku seksual introduction dan climbing tikus (R. norvegicus) jantan model diabetes. Induksi diabetes dilakukan secara intravena dengan menggunakan streptozotocin dosis 60 mg/kg BB pada hewan uji kecuali kelompok kontrol negatif. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah kontrol negatif (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) 0,05 %), kontrol positif (CMC 0,05 %), P1 (EEKBJ 385 mg/kg BB), P2 (EEKBJ 770 mg/kg BB) dan pembanding (glibenklamid dosis 10 mg/kg BB) selama 54 hari berturut-turut. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah introduction dan climbing tikus jantan terhadap tikus betina. Data yang telah diperoleh dari tiap parameter dianalisis dengan uji analisis varian (ANAVA) dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jumlah introduction dan climbing pada kelompok hewan uji P1 dan P2 berbeda nyata terhadap perlakuan kontrol positif dan mendekati nilai pada kelompok perlakuan kontrol negatif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol kulit buah jengkol (A. pauciflorum) dapat meningkatkan fertilitas tikus ditinjau dari perilaku seksual introduction dan climbing tikus (R. norvegicus) jantan model diabet.
