The aim of this study is to examine the relationship among psycho-immunity, mindfulness and flourishing of university students. To achieve this a battery of instruments was applied to 140 Faculty of Education of Damanhour University students. The study tests a model for analyzing the effects of psycho-immunity and mindfulness on psychological flourishing. The findings of the study show evidence in favor of the influence of psycho-immunity and mindfulness as factors in the prediction of flourishing. finally, the results assert the importance of psycho-immunity and mindfulness in achieving flourishing.
With the escalation of the Covid-19 crisis, many educational institutions have turned to distance education, especially universities and higher education institutions, which may affect the quality of learning outcomes especially those related to deeper learning and academic mindfulness. The present study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of hybrid learning in developing academic mindfulness and enhancing deeper learning of a sample of university students, in addition to shedding the light on the relationship among the study variables. The research sample consists of 350 university students from both humanities and scientific majors at two faculties in a university in Egypt during the academic year 2021\2022. A quasi-experimental research design was used in this study to investigate the relationship among the variables of the study and to answer the proposed questions. As shown through the obtained results hybrid learning is considered one of the effective teaching and learning approaches, especially in recent years. During the Covid-19 pandemic using online learning was the most effective and available way to continue learning, however after this situation ends hybrid learning should be the basic method of learning especially for university students. The present study shows a positive significant correlation among the variables of the study including academic mindfulness, deep learning competencies levels, and hybrid learning, which stresses the importance of applying hybrid learning to have a high-quality outcome of the educational process.
This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of a learning model in developing students' communication skills and reducing their communication apprehension level. This model consists of three main elements, each of which has sub-elements. It takes the students through three different phases starting with raising awareness and reaching autonomy. A training program and an assessment battery were developed and administered. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to analyze data. There were significant differences among the pre, post, and follow-up measurements. The pedagogical implications of the study have been discussed.
This study set out to investigate the effectiveness of self-regulated learning techniques. With a sample size of twenty students each, a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test control group design was adopted. A self-regulated learning questionnaire was used in addition to students’ marks in essay and writing subjects that were obtained and considered the reference of the academic achievement. The study's pedagogical ramifications were examined. The overall results showed improvement in the students’ self-regulated learning and academic achievement as measured by the study’s instruments. They agree with the studies which refer that students can control their learning behavior through their beliefs and therefore produce positive results. The self-regulated process helps make changes in students’ learning behavior.
