In this paper, we will consider a half-space filled with an elastic material, which has constant elastic parameters. The governing equations are taken in the context of the two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity theory [Youssef, H., 2005a. The dependence of the modulus of elasticity and the thermal conductivity on the reference temperature in generalized thermoelasticity for an infinite material with a spherical cavity, J. Appl. Math. Mech., 26(4), 4827; Youssef, H., 2005b. Theory of two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity, IMA J. Appl. Math., 1-8]. The medium is assumed initially quiescent. Laplace transform and state space techniques are used to obtain the general solution for any set of boundary conditions. The general solution obtained is applied to a specific problem of a half-space subjected to thermal shock and traction free. The inverse Laplace transforms are computed numerically using a method based on Fourier expansion techniques. Some comparisons have been shown in figures to estimate the effect of the two-temperature parameter.
In this paper, we will study the most important effects in the nano-scale resonator: the coupling effect of temperature and strain rate, and the non-Fourier effect in heat conduction. A solution for the generalized thermoelastic vibration of nano-resonator induced by thermal loading has been developed. The Young's modulus is taken as a linear function of the reference temperature. The effects of the thermal loading and the reference temperature in all the studied fields have been studied and represented in graphs with some comparisons. The Young's modulus makes significant effects on all the studied fields where the values of the temperature, the vibration of the deflection, stress, displacement, strain, stress-strain energy increase when the Young's modulus has taken to be variable.
This work aims to study the influence of the rotation on a thermoelastic solid sphere in the context of the hyperbolic two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity theory based on the mechanical damage consideration. Therefore, a mathematical model of thermoelastic, homogenous, and isotropic solid sphere with a rotation based on the mechanical damage definition has been constructed. The governing equations have been written in the context of hyperbolic two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity theory. The bounding surface of the sphere is thermally shocked and without volumetric deformation. The singularities of the studied functions at the center of the sphere have been deleted using L’Hopital’s rule. The numerical results have been represented graphically with various mechanical damage values, two-temperature parameters, and rotation parameter values. The two-temperature parameter has significant effects on all the studied functions. Damage and rotation have a major impact on deformation, displacement, stress, and stress–strain energy, while their effects on conductive and dynamical temperature rise are minimal. The thermal and mechanical waves propagate with finite speeds on the thermoelastic body in the hyperbolic two-temperature theory and the one-temperature theory (Lord-Shulman model).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
