TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL ANALISYS OF SLAG RECOVERY USE AT EAF AbstractIn the current global economic scenario, more and more large companies have turned their attention to the reuse of generated materials as result of direct operational actions, both as a way to reduce costs, as well as to enhance the sustainability business virtue. In primary refining operations in steel, where the most targeted product is the liquid steel, but now called coproduct, the slag, acts directly on the final cost of the product when processed, and becomes part of the cold load of the steel making process. In this sense, the study of this material is necessary to understand what will be its behavior upon the processes and what advantages and disadvantages after the implementation. In this paper, recycling slags produced by EAF and LD converter were characterize and used as well as their impact on the primary steelmaking refining, as part of the cold load in the EAF.
