El presente artículo muestra un estudio de los parámetros fisicoquímicos para determinar la calidad del agua subterránea y superficial en la zona de influencia de una cantera de yeso en el Perú. La evaluación se realizó en base a los Estándares de Calidad Ambiental (ECAs) para agua aprobados mediante Decreto Supremo N° 004-2017-MINAM, específicamente para la Categoría 3 - D1 (riego de vegetales) y para la Categoría 3 - D2 (bebida de animales). Para el análisis de la calidad de agua subterránea se muestreó 1 punto correspondiente a un pozo artesanal ubicado en la zona de La Alameda. Para el análisis de agua superficial la red de muestreo se realizó en manantiales, flujo superficial y estancamiento de agua, que se encontraron en dos zonas, dentro de la concesión en estudio y alrededores. Para determinar la fiabilidad del análisis químico, se realizó un balance iónico de los principales cationes y aniones disueltos. Además, para caracterizar las aguas superficiales, se utilizaron el Diagrama de Piper y el Diagrama de Stiff, resultando la predominancia de aguas sulfatadas cálcicas. Las aguas subterráneas resultaron ser ligeramente ácidas y las aguas superficiales ligeramente alcalinas con valores significativos de concentración de sulfatos.
