RESUMO:O presente artigo aborda os processos desenvolvidos por equipes e rede de saúde para a inclusão de uma Residência Terapêutica -RT no contexto territorial em Garanhuns -PE e sua implicação como nova prática de saúde. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de entrevistas, contando com a participação de 40 sujeitos, sendo 35 da comunidade onde a Residência Terapêutica está implantada e cinco profissionais de saúde. A análise construída a partir do material obtido nas entrevistas possibilitou o desenvolvimento de nove categorias que demonstraram os processos de inserção social dos moradores da RT na comunidade. Conclui-se que em Garanhuns, a RT conta com o apoio da rede de saúde no que concerne aos processos de saúde física, entretanto requer um planejamento e uma articulação entre esta rede e as redes sociais, para que assim haja uma aproximação entre os moradores da residência com a comunidade. INCLUSION EXPERIENCE OF A THERAPY RESIDENCE IN GARANHUNS, BRAZIL ABSTRACT:The processes developed by health and network teams in the inclusion of a Therapy Residence in Garanhuns PE Brazil and its implication as a new health practice are discussed. Interviews with 40 individuals, comprising 35 members of the community where the Therapy Residence was established, and 5 health professionals, were undertaken. Analysis of the material retrieved from the interviews produced 9 categories which showed the processes of social insertion of the residents in the community. Results show that TR in Garanhuns is supported by public health network with regard to physical health even though planning and articulation between the network and other social networks are required so that an approach between the residents and the community may be obtained.
