Esse artigo tem por finalidade desenvolver uma interconexão teórica entre a geografia e a economia política, por meio da análise e contextualização das relações existentes entre o conceito de território usado e a categoria renda da terra. Por se tratar de uma construção teórica, esse ensaio não abordará nenhum estudo de caso em caráter particular, mas visa antes de tudo uma síntese, de modo a fortalecer as bases epistemológicas da geografia como ciência. O território usado enquanto sinônimo de espaço se coloca como o objeto central da ciência geográfica, corroborando para uma análise crítica-social da dinâmica em que se encontra inserida a sociedade; por isso nesse trabalho buscou-se uma relação prática desse conceito com uma das mais centrais categorias da economia política, a renda da terra. Em dois recortes temporais pôde-se verificar as relações inseparáveis desses objetos; tanto no Feudalismo quanto no Capitalismo a renda da terra alicerça-se sob a base da exploração humana, em virtude do uso do território.
Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar e buscar como ocorre o ensino de geografia e os desafios enfrentados pelos professores indígenas em sala de aula na Escola Centro de Ensino Médio Indígena Xerente Warã (CEMIX). Localizado dentro do território Xerente no município de Tocantinia-TO. Busca também entender a importância da geografia como disciplina presente no currículo escolar e o papel do professor na aplicabilidade dos conteúdos geográficos em uma escola indígena, a partir das principais abordagens sobre a educação indígena no Tocantins. A pesquisa é resultado de uma revisão bibliográfica e de pesquisa de campo, na qual, fez-se entrevistas e levantamento fotográfico do objeto em análise.
Este artigo busca apresentar de maneira sucinta as concepções acerca do campesinato, a partir das concepções do socialismo. Seu principal objetivo é expressar como o campesinato se estrutura como classe social na Amazônia Oriental, a partir da metamorfose do posseiro em garimpeiro, e seu retorno à luta pela terra nos seios dos movimentos sociais. Sendo assim uma nova articulação no que se liga à luta de classe, que vem sofrendo diretamente com as interposições do capital fundiário. Essa, busca a monopolização do território em prol da acumulação de capital, a qual manifesta ação de expropriação, de dominação e, consequentemente, de expulsão de membros de uma classe social, os camponeses, que manifestam suas ações para que a condição de manutenção, de permanência e de reingresso a terra, em um processo de metamorfose seja proporcionando a manutenção de ideias vivas, seja mantendo viva sua identidade e, assim, vinculando o passado e o presente na luta para subsistir como camponês amazônico.
Esse artigo tem por finalidade analisar a luta pela continuidade do modo de vida camponês, tomando por base a trajetória de famílias expulsas da Ilha de São José, em Babaçulândia (TO), como consequência da implantação da Usina Hidrelétrica de Estreito (MA). Na Ilha de São José habitavam mais de 70 famílias que foram banidas de suas terras – hoje, completamente submersas pelas águas do reservatório da usina. Desse montante, 18 unidades produtivas vieram a formar o assentamento Mirindiba, localizado em Araguaína (TO), município vizinho a Babaçulândia. Tal assentamento foi criado pelo Consórcio Estreito Energia (CESTE), responsável pela construção da hidrelétrica. Nesse novo território, inúmeras dificuldades são enfrentadas pelas famílias, o que não as impede, entretanto, de lutar constantemente pela reprodução do seu modo de vida.
Analisar a fragmentação do território quilombola afrodescendente Morro São João, município de Santa Rosa do Tocantins e a partir dos fatos, delimitar o seu território original, compreendido pelas fazendas, Morro São João, Roma, São Felipe, Barreira das Catas e Santa Rosa com base num referencial teórico direcionado ao estudo quilombola, cujos procedimentos metodológicos foram de cunho qualitativo, com análises comparativas. Conforme documentos escriturais emitidos pelo Cartório de Natividade foi possível chegar à uma áreas de aproximadamente 6.300 a. (seis mil e trezentos alqueires) de terras pertencentes ao quilombo Morro São João. Cabe ainda estudos posteriores para melhor elucidação desse território. Palavras-chaves: Território original.
