Saat ini pengobatan sendiri (swamedikasi) meningkat di kalangan masyarakat, tidak terkecuali masyarakat di Desa Kekeran. Hal ini baik namun harus diimbangi dengan pengetahuan cara mengelola obat dengan benar agar mendapatkan efek yang diharapkan dan menghindari dampak kesalahan penggunaan obat. Namun, hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat di Desa Kekeran belum pernah memperoleh informasi terkait pengelolaan obat dengan benar. Hal tersebut dapat memengaruhi keberhasilan masyarakat ketika swamedikasi. Adanya permasalahan tersebut, membuat kami sebagai tim pelaksana program pengabdian masyarakat melakukan upaya berupa kegiatan penyuluhan dapatkan, gunakan, simpan, dan buang (DAGUSIBU) obat dengan benar. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Kekeran terkait pengelolaan obat dengan benar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyuluhan ini, yaitu metode sosialisasi dalam bentuk presentasi dengan bantuan power point dan booklet serta metode tanya jawab dengan target sasaran yang dituju, yaitu ibu rumah tangga (IRT). Berdasarkan penyuluhan yang telah dilakukan, kehadiran peserta memenuhi target sasaran, yaitu keseluruhan IRT yang berjumlah 28 orang (100%) dan sebagian besar aktif dalam sesi tanya jawab (57,14%) yang menandakan kegiatan disambut antusias oleh masyarakat. Dalam mengukur tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat, dilakukan penilaian dengan menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Dari hasil pre-test didapatkan bahwa sebelum dilakukannya penyuluhan, pengetahuan IRT mengenai DAGUSIBU obat masih tergolong kurang (42,14%). Namun berdasarkan hasil post-test setelah dilakukan penyuluhan, pengetahuan IRT di Desa Kekeran sudah tergolong baik (98,83%). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat yang sebelumnya tidak atau kurang tahu menjadi tahu mengenai cara pengolahan obat (56,19%). Maka dari itu kegiatan ini hendaknya rutin untuk dilakukan di Desa Kekeran agar seluruh masyarakat mampu mengolah obat dengan benar.
