El objetivo de este ensayo es analizar las alteraciones fonológicas causadas por la dislexia, para así dar respuesta a las siguientes preguntas: ¿la dislexia genera alteraciones fonológicas en el individuo?, ¿las alteraciones fonológicas a causa de la dislexia perjudican el aprendizaje de los individuos? y ¿el déficit de procesamiento temporal es la fuente del trastorno fonológico en individuos que padecen dislexia? Se asumió una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo sustentada en los métodos de investigación revisión bibliográfica, análisis documental, analítico-sintético e histórico-lógico. Se concluye que la dislexia puede ser causa suficiente de alteraciones fonológicas, aunque si bien estas pueden surgir de otras dificultades sensoriales como motoras, en cuanto al impacto en el aprendizaje se pudo constatar que las alteraciones fonológicas pueden suceder de acuerdo a la gravedad de la afección debido al reconocimiento de palabras, la fluidez, lectura, etc. Las personas disléxicas se ven afectadas por deficiencias en el procesamiento fonológico como la representación, almacenamiento, recuperación de los sonidos del habla, volviéndolos lentos para tareas rápidas que requieren del acceso a elementos léxicos familiares
