Objetivo: Analisar a prevalência e perfil de sensibilidade de microrganismos isolados de secreção traqueal de pacientes com pneumonia associada à ventilação mecânica (PAV) em unidade de terapia intensiva, de forma a traçar o perfil epidemiológico e orientar a terapia empírica. Métodos: Foi realizado um estudo transversal de prevalência, por meio do levantamento de dados de prontuários de pacientes internados na UTI da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São João del-Rei no ano de 2016. Inicialmente foram selecionados os pacientes com cultura de secreção traqueal positiva e posteriormente identificados aqueles que se enquadravam no diagnóstico de PAV, conforme critérios da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária. Resultados: Pseudomonas aeruginosa foi a bactéria mais comumente isolada, representando 40%, seguido de S. aureus, Acinetobacter baumanni, Klebsiella sp (13% cada). Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter sp e Burkholderia cepacia foram responsáveis por 6,7% cada. P. aeruginosa apresentou alguma resistência à ceftazidima (33%) e pouca resistência à cefepime, levofloxacino, ciprofloxacino e meropenem (16%). Conclusão: Foi possível observar alta prevalência de bactérias gram-negativas nas PAVs de UTI e elevados níveis de resistência antimicrobiana. Estudos posteriores são necessários para acompanhar esse perfil de resistência, visto tratar-se de um padrão que pode apresentar variação com o decorrer do tempo.
