Introducción: El cáncer de pulmón se produce por el crecimiento anormal de células del tracto respiratorio del tejido pulmonar, la mayoría de los canceres se deben a carcinomas de células no pequeñas. La OMS indica que el cáncer pulmonar es la segunda patología más diagnosticada globalmente. Los índices de mortalidad son tres veces elevados en fumadores. El cáncer de pulmón al principio es asintomático, conforme pasa el tiempo se presentan manifestaciones. Objetivo: Compilar información necesaria de la Prevalencia y factores de riesgos del cáncer de pulmón, una enfermedad letal y silenciosa. Metodología: Estudio documental, bibliográfico. Se hizo uso de bases de datos como SciELO, Elsevier, PubMed, en idiomas español e inglés. Resultados: Se ha realizado una amplia búsqueda de la prevalencia y factores de riesgo del cáncer de pulmón en los diferentes países del mundo. Tienen más riesgo de padecer cáncer de pulmón personas de sexo masculino. Los países con mayor prevalencia son China, seguido de Paraguay, Estados Unidos, Cuba, México, España y Reino Unido Conclusión: Se evidencian elevadas cifras de cáncer de pulmón en países desarrollados a diferencia de países subdesarrollados. El factor de riesgo a largo plazo es el tabaquismo, seguido de exposiciones ocupacionales o contaminación ambiental. La prevalencia de cáncer de pulmón se vio incrementada la última década, debido al aumento del hábito de fumar en la población. El aumento de la prevalencia de cáncer de pulmón está relacionado con la presencia de malos hábitos, exposición de segunda mano y a la exposición ambiental desde edades tempranas
El dengue se está convirtiendo en un problema creciente en muchas partes tropicales y subtropicales del mundo, es una enfermedad viral, existen cuatro subtipos diferentes, el virus es un flavivirus y está estrechamente relacionado con los virus de la fiebre amarilla, Nilo occidental y encefalitis japonesa, el dengue es la principal enfermedad viral transmitida por mosquitos en todo el mundo, que infecta a millones de personas cada año, al no existir tratamiento específico para la infección, se requiere cuidado y apoyo vigoroso y requiere control de vectores y protección personal para reducir las picaduras de mosquito a manera de prevención. Esta revisión tiene como objetivo primordial informar sobre el dengue y su incidencia en la salud de los habitantes de Ecuador y la carga que este supone para la salud pública del país, se aplica una metodología de revisión sistemática documental para el procesamiento de la información. Los resultados indican que durante las últimas décadas los casos de dengue han aumentado a gran escala ocasionando y generando problemas en las personas infectadas, se concluyó que el dengue es sustancial y determinar la incidencia exacta es complicado, pero al ser una infección ocasionada por un virus, constituye un gran problema para la salud pública de los países en desarrollo
Los Arbovirus son un grupo de virus que originan las arbovirosis las cuales son patologías víricas causadas por la picadura de un vector perteneciente al género Aedes, sobre todo el Aedes aegypti, este vector tiene hábitos domiciliarios por lo que su trasmisión es predominantemente doméstica y es el causante de dengue, zika y chikungunya. Ecuador es un país susceptible al ingreso de Arbovirus que se transmiten por varios mosquitos vectores bien establecidos. La presente investigación se realizó con la finalidad de describir la epidemiologia, diagnóstico y manifestaciones clínicas de los Arbovirus en Ecuador, se aplicó un estudio documental con diseño descriptivo basada en la revisión sistemática de 50 artículos científicos seleccionados de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Respecto a los resultados se encontró mayor prevalencia de los Arbovirus en Guayas, Manabí y Esmeraldas cuya prueba de diagnóstico rápido, IgG e IgM, y la de PCR son las recomendadas para el diagnóstico de Arbovirus que presentan manifestaciones clínicas como fiebre, malestar general, dolor abdominal, vómito y artralgia. En conclusión, los Arbovirus tienen afinidad a la zona costera donde se presentan con fiebre, malestar general y dolor abdominal en el cual el diagnóstico es a través de pruebas rápidas, IgG, IgM, y la de PCR.
