-052Assessing the Scope of the Tandem Michael/Intramolecular Aldol Reaction Mediated by Secondary Amines, Thiols and Phosphines.-It is found that the outcome of the title reaction strongly depends on the substrates used. Best results are obtained for the formation of 5-and 6-membered rings using thiols.Amine-and phosphine-mediated cyclizations are problematic in some cases but are effective for the formation of 5-7-membered rings.-(RICHARDS, ELINOR L.; MURPHY, PATRICK J.; DINON, FRANCESCA; FRATUCELLO, SILIVA; BROWN, PAUL M.; GELBRICH, THOMAS; HURSTHOUSE, MICHAEL B.; Tetrahedron 57 (2001) 36, 7771-7784; Dep.
