A Avaliação do Impacto Ambiental é um instrumento importante, antes da aprovação de qualquer projeto, fornecendo um panorama detalhado dos impactos prováveis e previsíveis da atividade de construção proposta no meio ambiente e de suas futuras atividades a serem desenvolvidas. Assim, o Estudo de Impacto Ambiental (EIA) precede ao licenciamento ambiental e no Brasil, a Resolução CONAMA nº 01/86 estabeleceu a exigência do EIA para o licenciamento de diversas atividades modificadoras do meio ambiente. Esta resolução apresenta diversos critérios e diretrizes que devem estar contidas nos EIA e nos seus respectivos Relatórios de Impacto Ambiental (RIMA). Com base nesta resolução, neste trabalho, avaliou-se a efetividade processual do EIA/RIMA de um Loteamento a ser construído no estado do Ceará, Brasil. A avaliação se deu por um checklist de 28 critérios oriundos da resolução. Os resultados mostram que o EIA/RIMA analisado não contempla satisfatoriamente os requisitos mínimos exigidos pela legislação que regula o instrumento Avaliação de Impacto Ambiental de projetos. Consequentemente, a análise da viabilidade ambiental do empreendimento, que é poluidor e modificador do meio ambiente, fica totalmente comprometida.
Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a degradação do metil e propil parabenos pelo processo de ozonização em meios ácido (pH = 5), alcalino (pH = 10) e catalítico (Mn2+, pH = 3). Os estudos cinéticos foram conduzidos a temperatura ambiente (27°C) para uma dosagem constante de 79 g/m3 de O3 na concentração inicial de 50 mg/L. Os resultados mostraram uma degradação de 100% para ambos os parabenos após 3 min de reação para o sistema alcalino. A cinética de degradação dos parabenos foi descrita pelo modelo cinético de primeira ordem com R2 entre 0,990 e 0,999. A ozonização alcalina (O3/OH-) apresentou constantes de velocidade de duas a três vezes superiores às observadas em meio ácido e catalítico. A não toxicidade das amostras tratadas frente à Artemia salina foi confirmada apenas para os processos de ozonização ácida e catalítica. Em geral, os resultados de degradação dos parabenos para os sistemas de ozonização aplicados foram promissores, embora os sistemas ácido e catalítico sejam os ambientalmente mais aceitáveis.
